Magallanes is Chile's southernmost region, known for its rugged Patagonian landscapes, including Torres del Paine National Park and the massive Southern Patagonian Ice Field. The climate is cool and windy year-round, with summer temperatures around 50-70°F (10-21°C) from December to February, ideal for trekking to the park's iconic granite peaks and spotting guanacos and condors. In winter, from June to August, temperatures drop to 20-40°F (-6 to 4°C), and you can cruise through the Strait of Magellan to see penguin colonies at Isla Magdalena or visit the historic Fuerte Bulnes settlement.
