Bandipur National Park sits in southern Karnataka, India, as part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, and it's famous for its dense populations of wild elephants, Bengal tigers, and spotted deer. The park has a tropical climate: dry winters from October to February are the best time for jeep safaris on the main roads through the forest, while the hot summers from March to May push animals to congregate near waterholes like the Moyar River, giving you excellent viewing chances even in the heat. You can also take guided nature walks in the cooler winter mornings, or visit the nearby Bandipur Tiger Reserve interpretation center to learn about local conservation efforts during summer afternoons.
