Hotels in Sanjay Gandhi National Park, India
Sanjay Gandhi National Park, located on the northern outskirts of Mumbai, is famous for being one of the world's largest urban national parks, home to leopards and the ancient Kanheri Buddhist caves carved from basalt rock. Winters (November to February) bring mild temperatures of 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F), perfect for trekking the forest trails or spotting big cats on a safari; summers are hot and humid, best avoided unless you're keen on fewer visitors and exploring the 2,400-year-old caves at your own pace. Monsoons (June to September) drench the park in greenery, but trails get muddy-so pack waterproof gear if you go then.
