The Drei Zinnen - Tre Cime region sits in the heart of the Dolomites, an alpine area in northeastern Italy with cold, snowy winters and mild, sunny summers. It's famous for the three massive limestone peaks - named Großer Zinne, Westliche Zinne, and Kleine Zinne - which you can hike around on the Panorama Trail during summer (70-80°F / 21-27°C) or ski the slopes of Sexten and Toblach in winter (20-30°F / -6 to -1°C). In July and August, try via ferrata climbing on the peaks themselves; from December to March, snowshoe the trail to the Dreizinnenhütte for a hot meal and views of the frozen peaks.
