Ica is a desert region in southern Peru, famous for the mysterious Nazca Lines and the oasis of Huacachina, where you can sandboard down towering dunes. The climate is hot year-round (75-90°F / 24-32°C), with mostly dry winters ideal for dune buggy rides across the Huacachina dunes and flights over the Nazca Lines. During the summer months from December to March, you can still explore the region's bodegas for Pisco tastings and visit the Ballestas Islands without the winter crowds.
